The Call to Worship, Matthew 6:31-34, was read by Ryan Koertge. Nolan’s sermon, Hebrews:  Warnings Ahead, was taken from Hebrews 2:1 and several other scriptures from Hebrew. In many teachings, there are warnings that follow. The writer of Hebrews is trying to get the people back on track once they start to drift away from Christ. When one drifts, three things start to happen. 1) Drifting leaves us vulnerable to Satan’s lies. We’re selfish and don’t see our own faults. 2) It leaves us stunted in our faith. Faith should be active, not a passive act. 3) Drifting can lead to falling away, rebuking the Holy Spirit, and not coming back to Christ. Let’s not be like these people; but instead, get into the Word to become mature Christians.
